Guest ariesroyaal
The ATI install seems to go off without any problems, but when I check the info after restarting XFree, it still lists Mesa as being the display drivers. I canf find any way to make it use the ATI ones. It is a Radeon 9800 XT using ATI's drivers (trying to use) on Mandrake 10. Oh and I tried to search for an answer on this forum, but I got an error. You may want to backup the current XF86Config-4 and than run an X configuration tool. You can try Xdrake, or the ATI config utility which comes with the ATI drivers from ATI. I have, I used fglrxconfig (if thats what you mean). I even tried deleting the old config file before saving the new one.

spiedra
Don't know what fglrxconfig. Try opening a console and as root type: XFdrake This will bring up your X configurator and you should be able to chose the right driver.

thac
You could try the fglrx rpm i have built on my site http://rpm.nyvalls.se/graphics10.0.html If you want to use it for another kernel download the srpm and recompile it. The srpm should build for any 2.4 or 2.6 mandrake, tmb or sds kernel. /Torbjörn Turpeinen (Thac)

coverup
If memory serves me right, ATI advises to uninstall Mesa stuff before installing the ATI drivers.
