It's the base Fedora kernel with some desktop related additions. These additions are related to: - Performance (Interactivity) - Simplification of desktop usage (Supermount) What does it provide?kernel-desktop is the base Fedora kernel plus: - Con Kolivas patchset : http://members.optusnet.com.au/ckolivas/kernel - Supermount-ng : http://supermount-ng.sf.net - NTFS read-only driver - Config HZ to 1000Hz - Staircase CPU scheduler : http://members.optusnet.com.au/ckolivas/kernel/ - Auto-Swappiness : http://members.optusnet.com.au/ckolivas/kernel/ Provides some good stuff, as soon as it's done downloading I'll be testing it ;-) Figured I would add GYUM in this post too.
