jgutty
I made the move to MDK 10, and I have a vexing issue. When I try to listen to a streaming sound file that is real media, there is no sound if I have the realplayer selected as the application in Mozilla or firefox. Never was this an issue in any previous versions. If I select totem as the application, I get sound sometimes....... http://www.jgutty.com/media/lville7_25_03a.ram ............sometimes it doesn't work at all...... http://www.musicsojourn.com/ I have an asus p4t533-c w/ AC97. I am using KDE, all seems normal otherwise.
spiedra
Will it work if you put the file rpnp.so in your mozilla plugins folder? It should create the mime type automatically.
xbob
The first link errors out for me in Totem and the latest HelixPlayer as well, maybe poorly encoded or corrupt? Don't have issue with other Real files so I can't be of much more help, sorry.
jgutty
I placed the .so file as suggested...no difference. The links that I referenced above both currently work in windoze, and it is every rm file I try, and they work in 9.2....so it must be a mdk 10 issue. Bummer. Thanks anyway. jgutty
Just to close this out....I went back to MDK 9.2. All works fine now. As an aside, 9.2 must be the best OS I have ever used. I liked 10 also, but there seems to be some issues a novice such as myself can't resolve.
