sambo
I've just installed Gaim and am trying to install an icon set. I am told to put the files in /home/(username)/.gaim/smileys However, this folder doesn't exist when i try to find it in the GUI. Is there any way to make hidden folders appear in the GUI? Alternatively, what is the command to move files or folders from one directory to the other in the konsole? Thanks! moved from hardware - tyme
imwithstupid
In konqueror I believ there is an option under view->show hidden files. That should show all the files. If it doesn't you might want to hit refresh. In konsole or any other console for that matter you can type cp originalLocation destinationLocation cp /home/you/file.jpg /home/me/file.jpg and if you need more info on cp it can be had with man cp then if you don't want the original file you can use rm to remove it. Andrewski
Or to copy and delete, use the mv command to move files. (Incidentally, use it to rename as well: mv old_name new_name.)
spiedra
I prefer keeping those files hidden so somone else doesn't go in there and muck things up.
