Ixthusdan
I have currently 3 distros that all have really nice splash gui's. But, when I boot up, only Mandrake works with the splash; the rest all boot text until the desktop manager loads. So, how do I tell lilo to use the correct boot splash? Ixthusdan
No interest in gui, eh? So far, for Mandrake and no doubt its clones, such as PCLinuxOS, an entry "vga=788" is sufficient to bring the gui back. Libranet wil so far only boot with "vga=normal", and thus, no cute gui for booting. Any one with libranet and a lilo.conf care to post it so I can see? My install did not yiels a lilo.conf. idud
Try to add "splash=silent" to the boot option in lilo. E.g. : image=/boot/vmlinuz label="linux" root=/dev/hda1 initrd=/boot/initrd.img append="devfs=mount acpi=ht resume=/dev/hda2 splash=silent" I hope this helps.
