Now I always make a backup of my mbr with: # dd if=/dev/hdx of=/dev/fd0 bs=512 count=1 where 'x' corresponds to your boot hard drive. This will backup the mbr to a floppy but you can put it anywhere on a removeable medium. To restore just do: # dd if=/dev/fd0 of=/dev/hdx bs=512 count=1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
