FX
Fresh install of Slack 10 and this is the 3rd time its happen with 10. Not sure what I am doing wrong, but its getting very discouraging and I don't know what to do to fix it. Here is the error I am getting. "There was an error creating the child process for this terminal" I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I've tried other terms and even downloading Eterm and it still will not work. :( Any ideas? Thanks FX
FX
Well this is interesting. I thought that I had gone back into the stock kernel and tried, but I didn't. Anyways I did try going back into the stock kernel just now and I had to change back the "nvidia" to "vesa" in the drivers area and logged in. Clicked on the terminal icon and it worked. So I went back into the 2.6.7 kernel and changed the drivers around in there (xorg.conf). Booted and tried a terminal and still nothing. So I think I have it narrowed down to a 2.6.7 thing. Which really makes me lost. Could it be something different I have compiled in with the 2.6.7 kernel? Exactly how would I cp the exact .config file over to use in the 2.6.7 compile? Wonder if that will work. I have reinstalled and changed the drivers around in the 2.4.26 kernel and yes the terminal still works. iphitus
The other kernel might have its config available in /proc.config.gz
