LTD602
When I installed MDK10, my Radeon 8500 128mb vidcard was detected and I was asked if I wanted to use Mandrake's XFree86 3D acceleration. I chose to do so, and now it seems that I am 3D accelerated. Now . . . . I know that with WinXP, there were standard Radeon drivers (good ones) from ATI, and that my "display" options increased - I could tweak OpenGL, etc. I replaced those drivers with some customized ones from Omegacorner (Driverheaven), and they were faster and I had a few more options as well. So I had very good, highly tweaked drivers under XP. Now, I know that MDK10 gave me 3D acceleration . . . but is this all it is?? No "tweaking" options? Are there better drivers out there for MDK10 and Radeon cards? I know ATI has some but they're quite old. I'd appreciate any help. :D
DragonMage
I think you are using XFree's own driver, not ATI's proprietary driver. Try downloading ATI's driver and install it. Then you may be able to tweak the living daylights out of it. ATI's support in Linux is iffy at best. This is why most Linux users pick NVidia cards because their driver is easier to compile and to tweak around.
