Guest fL1
Setup: Mandrake SNF forwards port 80 to webserver which has an internal IP address. My problem is that i want to type in http://www.whatever.com and be sent to my webserver. SNF seems to not allow traffic to loop back through the system. I was told that this was a security feature and was used to make sure that nobody could forge an internal ip address and access the webbased SNF config. To make this short I want to be able to turn this off with out causing a security issue. I belive that it is a general firewall setting that i need to turn off, but have little experince with anything other then a GUI config. does anybody know which files to edit and what to look for? and especially what not to do. Thanks.
paul
don't turn it off !!!! instead put an internal DNS server in your network that resolves www.domain.com to 192.168.1.x (or whatever) Much safer ... and easier to get running
