Guest the bishop
I am trying to have a headless server running Mandrake 10 CE ... I want it to be headless and remove my mouse, keyboard & monitor, but I've noticed when I remove other devices and reboot it will sit at the detection phase asking if I want to remove the device or cancel ... I want it to skip that and just boot up -- is there a way to do this, or will I need to keep a monitor/keyboard/mouse plugged into it ... ? beesea
I think if you disable the harddrake service you should be ok
bvc
Mandrake Control Center>System>Services and uncheck harddrake at boot. Or in a terminal/console as root; chkconfig harddrake off check with; chkconfig --list | grep harddrake or if it is running with; service -s | grep harddrake SEE: chkconfig --help or man for more info. Gowator
yep chkconfig rocks for this.... if you need a console based tool so you can do this externally ... then Its great ....
