I did log in to http://192.168.0.1 and use the setup wizard, but it was unable to automaticaly detect the connection type. That was another reason I thought there might be a hardware problem. Gowator Posted June 26, 2004 Report Share Posted June 26, 2004 Ah... If the router has pppoe then you wont be able to use pppoe on the PC.. You need to find out from the MS router or your ISP your password etc. and if its pppoe then you need the VPI and VCI and connection method LLC/VC MUX its annoying everything needs to be correct .... no half measures with one wrong it will connect or not. kmc77 Posted June 29, 2004 Author Report Share Posted June 29, 2004 All fixed. Turns out the router's default setting is for a 100 Mbps WAN and I needed it set to 10 Mbps.
