Steve Scrimpshire Posted June 24, 2004 Report Share Posted June 24, 2004 I just got the above-mentioned wireless card for my laptop and it uses an Atheros chipset, so I installed the madwifi drivers. What is odd is that it works, but if I set the rate to 54Mbps, I only get about ~2 Mbps throughput. If I set it to 36 Mbps, I get a little more, and the best with 18 Mbps (~10 Mbps throughput). Firstly, this is odd that lower settings give me better throughput and all of them are lower than I should expect from an 802.11g card. I tried ndiswrapper and I get even less throughput. Any ideas?
