chris-tux
hi all, I have a dvb-s card and want to load the firmware at boot time. I put the firmware in /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware and added the modules to be loaded in /etc/modprobe.preload. But it doesn't work [chris@tuxedo chris]$ dmesg |grep dvb saa7146: register extension 'dvb'. dvb-ttpci: cannot request firmware! However when I load the modules with modprobe after the boot, it works perfectly well ... What am I doing wrong? tia chris
devries
http://www.linuxtv.org/mailinglists/linux-...4/msg00170.html It seems you need a /etc/hotplug/firmware.agent.
william
Manually insert the modules in etc/rc.d/rc.local file.
