Webcam and TVCard problems

Hi all,

I have a Logitech Quickcam 3000 pro USB and a Pinnacle PCTV Rave PCI. When I try to configure Gnomemeeting, screen is black. When I try to configure XawTV, webcam light on and shows nothing. If I disconnect webcam from USB, XawTV works fine with PCTV, but no channel is found. I always see the same channel. :wall:

I know it's a crazy situation, but I don't know how to setup that PCTV (video1) is for XAWTV and Logitech (video0) is for Gnomemeeting. I thing HardDrake is not as good as everybody say when you find problems like this one.

Thank you.

PD-> Sorry for my bad english. :afro:

Nope harddrake is pretty much screwing you about.

Whats happening is its creating a /dev/video0 and /dev/video1 and these are being created dynamicaly. The way to make em static is in the modules.conf to0 add an alias ... Im at work on XP now so cant be specific but if you look in the file (or someone else does) /etc/modules.conf then youll see examples

alias video0 <yourPCTVdriver>

Incidentlly this possibly explains your AC97 card too...

can you post your

/etc/modules.conf pls ??

Hi,

My Modules.conf shows:

probeall usb-interface usb-ohci ehci-hcd

alias ieee1394-controller ohci1394

alias eth0 8139too

above snd-intel8x0 snd-pcm-oss

alias sound-slot-0 nvaudio

That's all, folks!!!

Thank you for your reply.
