ac_dispatcher
OK Im going on a trip soon. I need a good Linux prog like "Streets & Trips" Basically a prog to tell me how to get from point A to point B in the USA. Now I know their are some web sites that do this but I want one I could load on my laptop and track my progress and check milage. Any Idea? I don't want to install WIndow$ just to run my copy of MS Streets & Trips Edited June 9, 2004 by ac_dispatcher
null
I'm interested in this also. I like a couple of the winblows street atlases, such as streets & trips, and, like ac, I don't want to keep winblows just to use them. phunni
get a palm and buy a GPS package for it :D There are (apparently) GPS packages for Linux as well that will work with your handheld - but I haven't used them and can't comment on how good they are. Qchem
People in the UK (and some of the rest of Europe) can use multimap (free to use website) to help plan routes and find directions. I'm not sure if theres something similar for the US. Aside from that, have you looked to see if anyones had success running Streets & Trips via wine? [EDIT] When I've actually looked multimap does the US too. Edited June 9, 2004 by Qchem
ac_dispatcher
I tried to install via wine and winex3, both did not work. I just hate the fact of installing XP just for one program. Oh well.
