Steve Scrimpshire
I wouldn't trust the 'update' from the CDs unless you really know what you are doing. If CE is working for you, I say stick with it. Of course keep updated from the updates source on the web.
Sherpa
now knowing what i know, it would be wasy to just reformat my drive and start over, just to get all the kinks out but is that necessary? (i think i might do this anyway)
Steve Scrimpshire
Before I did that, I would try the Upgrade option from the new release. If you're planning on reformatting anyway, it couldn't hurt.
liquidzoo
You could always try removing your CE cd urpmi sources (Menu -> System -> Packaging -> Software Sources Manager or urpmi.removemedia -a as root in a console) and add the cd's from OE and update that way. It's risky, but it might work for you.

Qchem
Do yourself a favour and create a seperate /home partition when you do your reinstall. That way you won't have to lose all your data next time you want to install a new distro.
