Andrewski
I assume there's not much energy being spent on CE these days, but some are still waiting out their days for the download edition of official ;) I just did ye ole urpmi.update -a and then: root:andrew$ urpmi --auto-select Some package requested cannot be installed: drakconf-10-13mdk.i586 (due to unsatisfied perl(lang)) drakxtools-10-34.1mdk.i586 (due to missing drakxtools-newt-10-34.1mdk.i586) drakxtools-newt-10-34.1mdk.i586 (due to unsatisfied perl(Libconf::Glueconf::NUT::Ups_conf)) harddrake-10-34.1mdk.i586 (due to unsatisfied drakxtools-newt[== 10-34.1mdk]) harddrake-ui-10-34.1mdk.i586 (due to missing drakxtools-newt-10-34.1mdk.i586) The only thing I was able to find online was a thread in the linuxquestions.org forum, where someone said Mandrake had screwed up their RPMs. Uh... seeing as there were no other pertinent webpages out there, I think that may be incorrect. But, that doesn't help me fix the problem anyway. No RPMs with those names on rpmfind.net or rpm.pbone.net either.

Andrewski
Whoops, couldn't find that while searching. Thanks for letting me know! :)
frosterrj
why dont you change sources to 10 official, urpmi urpmi, urpmi --auto-select? I just did that yesterday and have had no problems, now running 10 official (as far as I can tell): cat /proc/version Linux version 2.6.3-9mdk (qateam@files.linsec.vx) (gcc version 3.3.2 (Mandrake Linux 10.0 3.3.2-6mdk)) #1 Fri Apr 23 16:41:09 EDT 2004
Andrewski
Is that a 'safe' way of upgrading from CE to Official? If so, I'll just have to do that!
bvc
Is that a 'safe' way of upgrading from CE to Official? If so, I'll just have to do that! I did it, and after getting the updates for official all was well. Then I went cooker. Some have said they heard not to mix CE and OE pkgs, but I didn't have any problems. If something like that happens in the future just put the pkgs in /etc/urpmi/urpmi.cfg like above you'd put drakconf drakxtools drakxtools-newt harddrake harddrake-ui and it should continue with everything else. oh, and; --auto --auto-select works better ;) Edited May 23, 2004 by bvc
Andrewski
oh, and;--auto --auto-select works better Wouldn't that install automatically? If so, I don't want to do that; often it has asked me to uninstall packages that I know I want, etc. I'll just stick to having control over my system. <- I really like that one. bvc
it's all about trust seriously, I guess if you didn't have your data baked up, can't do a reinstall and finished setup in 3 hours, then --auto wouldn't be good. B)
