Guest lenseboy Posted May 17, 2004 Report Share Posted May 17, 2004 Right. I have a MDK9.1 new installation with two nics but only dev0 is up. I have a cross-over cable that connects dev0 to a windowz XP box. I have internet connection sharing on this windows nic. Using MDK Control Centre, I have used the wizard, expert mode and normal mode to configure my internet conenction. I am using the windows nic as my gateway. Mandrake looks as if it has configured the card properly although you can never be too sure ! I have tried using a static ip as well as have the MDK nic act as DHCP client but I still have not been able to ping my windowz box ! I am a newbie with Linux and would appreciate it if someone could give me a hand at configuring this bastard ! Cheers Gareth Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
