Bootloader Error

I'm not sure about that. I have had Mandrake in various partitions on more than one hard drive, and have not had a problem. I have also used lilo rather than grub. I have seen that on hardware combos that seem to have problems, grub seems to work better. I also know that I have always installed lilo onto the mbr. Oh, windex must be in the first position of hard drive one, or it won't work, period. I also know that out of all the people using Mandrake, since this is a help board, we see the problems. It doesn't mean Mandrake is in trouble, it's just that we see the issues.

I currently boot three different os's without a problem: SuSE 9. Mandy 10OE, and Windex xppro.

I've had it good and bad. The good was either with grub, BootMagic, or the ntldr but never with lilo. For a year or so I had probably 20 different installs or more with mandrake all over the place. One time having (not in any particular order, and the order changing). Mandrake's grub usually controlled these. Then red hat's and suse's grub did.

I will say it seems the lilo/mandrake/xp boot problems have increased dramatically and it's not just the CE thing either.....it continues at a higher rate.....and should happen very rarely.

I have 2 harddrive and it is on the first one i am pretty sure the error that came up was something like cant read head or write protected. so i just left it and tried in rescue. But does anyone know where i can get a boot floppy to boot from that to Linux without getting the file from linux. (since i cant get in). or can anyone show me a easier way to get in?
