sir_max
Hi, i have this question... What kernel patches are advisable to merge into a new kernel?? for security and better hardware support?? Thanks to all
iphitus
The vanilla kernel has excellent security and hardware support. If you need a driver for a piece of hardware that is not included in the kernel, and there is a driver available, it will compile as a module and doesnt need any patches on the kernel
sir_max
i asked because when i have installed kernel 2.6.5 vanilla supermount didn't work because there wasn't kernel support... now i have downloaded that patch and was thinking if there was another patch worth installing.. perhaps i didn't ask the right way, maybe because english it's no my first language... thanks for your reply :D
