Guest Spuds
I've just recently started using Mandrake Linux (ie. I installed it 2 hours ago) but I can't get it to work with my Hercules 4000 XT PCI Graphics Card. It works fine with the graphics controller on my motherboard but It's really annoying having to fiddle about behind my computer changing the connection. If you need any more information please ask (And please provide detailed instructions as to how to obtain it, preferriably in the big print persion with lots of pretty pictures ;) ) Thanks for you help
DragonMage
Checking the specification of the Hercules 4000 XT, I find out that it is powered by PowerVR Kyro chipset. It is not directly supported by XFree 4.2.1 as far as I know, but fortunately PowerVR released the driver for linux. You can download the driver and read the instructions from this site. http://www.powervr.com/Downloads.asp Unfortunately, the instruction for installing the driver is in .exe format so I cannot read it right now. But it seems the installation should be similar to nvidia driver.
Guest Spuds
Ok, I've downloaded all the files but their's a few of the instructions I'm not too sure about (Try not to laugh too much) 1. Where do I put powervr-2.00.20-427.src.rpm , powervr-2.00.20-234.mdk82.i586.rpm and powervr-2.00.20-427.tgz ? 2. Is the command to edit a file different than the one in DOS? Thanks again for all your help Spuds
