Guest pipplo
I updated my menu using kdemenuedit..but when i checked the following folders i found nothing ~./.kde/share/applnk ~/.kde3.2/share/applnk /usr/kde/3.2/share/applnk The first 2 show empty directories, and the 3 shows some stuff that looks NOTHING like the menu that shows up on my kmenu.. so where is this stuff stored. I'm editing as root right now because i thought maybe that would edit the global settings, but i'm not sure where any of this stuff is stored. Any help guys? I kidna want to edit the menu to make it look a lot better.
HJ
Err... I don't see where kde puts user edited entries  But why can't you just use the menu editor built into KDE (kmenuedit) to customize your menu?
Guest pipplo
I could, i was just trying to edit them globally so i dont' have to do it for every user

HJ
well gentoo uses pretty much stock KDE, so you could try looking for a KDE specific support forum?
