USB mouse stops working randomly

About every 20-40 minutes my USB mouse will seize up and not respond to anything. I've tried plugging in directly into my motherboard and also my USB hub but get the same problem.

If I unplug the mouse and the plug it back in, it works fine again.

Any ideas?

Hi,

Ok, some more guesses. Perhaps the brand isn't totally compatible with Mandrake. Some people have had trouble with Microsoft mice for example. I use a Logitech optical usb with no trouble. I would try to borrow a different mouse to try and narrow down some possibilities.

Can you check your logs to see what the usb bus is doing? I have an ALi usb hub that is a little bit flaky under windoze, but works great under Mandrake. Unfortunatly, I've noticed that identical hardware sometimes behaves differently on different machines for no good reason that I can see.

Just a few more guesses,
