Dual boot

Ok, heres what i have and heres what i want to do.....ive tried a few things without much success.

I have 2 36GB raptor SATA hard drives, i want windows on the primary channel(ID0) and linux on the secondary(ID1). I want to be able to use the windows boot loader, and have an option to boot into linux.

I think i have to edit boot.ini and copy a certain linux boot file to C:\ or something but im not sure.

As of now i have my primary drive running linux, so that it is the default boot device........and i have windows on the secondary......but it will not boot into that device if i select it from the grub boot menu(yes i have edited grub.conf to reflect the correct device) but it just sits there after it posts "chainloader +1" and does nothing, im guessing it may have somehting to do with NTFS?

Please just tell me how i can accomplish this setup.

I have always dual booted with lilo. You will find windex to be uncooperative with booting anything other than other windex os's. I recommend using a boot loader like lilo or grub.
