  1. I get this during the formatting step of a mdk 10.1 install, my hard drive is a 300GB maxtor something or other sata. My current partition scheme is: NTFS 80GB NTFS 166GB Linux Swap 2GB Ext3 32GB
  2. Can someone give me so info as to how to do this with mandrake 10? (i want to use windows as the server )
  3. Ok so ive been running MDK 9.2 for about a day now and all of a sudden for no apparent reason in my start menu about half the shortcuts to programs i had and all the icons for the categories have disappeared what in the world has happened? BTW im running KDE
  4. Ok, i finally found the kernel source and am downloading it.....i also saw another version of the kernel source, kernel-multimedia-source-2.4.22-21mm.1mdk.i586 What is the diff with multimedia source?
  5. I heard someone mention a forcedeth ethernet driver for nforce2 mobo's? I did a search on google but didnt find much, how do i get it and install it?
  6. Thats the thing, i dont have internet access from my linux partition yet. Thats what these chipset drivers are for, audio, network, and gart.
  7. I cant seem to find the kernel-source package anywhere on the discs, i thought i had installed it when i did the main install though...but its not there.
  8. You realize its not for a nvidia video card but the nforce2 chipset right?
  9. I finally got my system all setup and running fine, but im trying to install the drivers from source since i have MDK 9.2 and there are no precompiled drivers. I unpack the source and try to do a make on it but it has error after error, it keeps complaining about "nvnet.o" and i dont know what to do. Any ideas?
  10. I would but i cant make lilo OR grub work with my current config.
  11. Ok, heres what i have and heres what i want to do.....ive tried a few things without much success. I have 2 36GB raptor SATA hard drives, i want windows on the primary channel(ID0) and linux on the secondary(ID1). I want to be able to use the windows boot loader, and have an option to boot into linux. I think i have to edit boot.ini and copy a certain linux boot file to C:\ or something but im not sure. As of now i have my primary drive running linux, so that it is the default boot device........and i have windows on the secondary......but it will not boot into that device if i select it from the grub boot menu(yes i have edited grub.conf to reflect the correct device) but it just sits there after it posts "chainloader +1" and does nothing, im guessing it may have somehting to do with NTFS? Please just tell me how i can accomplish this setup.
