cannot read of install disks after install

have installed 9.2, and am trying to set up my speedtouch modem, and set up hard disk sharing, but the environment (kde) ask me to place the install disk into my cd 0 drive to install files. the drive in question does not seem to read the files of the disk and im not sure how to tell mandrake which drive to use

 

optorite dd203 cd 1

lite on 48 speed writer cd 2

 

the lite on reads the disks ok in windows and linux but the optorite only reads of the disk in windows

 

can anyone help :cheesy:

You could try the config sources from the K menu

 

K --> Configuration --> Packaging --> Software Media Manager

 

You should find a listing for all three install CDs there.

 

Choose one of them and click on edit:

 

should look something like this ("cdrom1" is listed as such in my fstab):

 

URL: removable://mnt/cdrom1/Mandrake/RPMS

Relative path: ../../Mandrake/base/hdlist1.cz

 

I believe this is one of those things that were flakey with the initial install, which is why there are plenty of updates you will need to install ASAP. Also be prepared for the dissappearing menu situation. :cheesy:
