gentry_joey
Is there a version of the Linux partition manager that is self bootable. I really like that partition manager and was hoping I could get that all by its self so I dont need to install linux to use it. I figured for a programmer it would be easy to do because all the source is open.
bvc
I'm sure there's a way but the easiest would be just to use PCLinuxOS livecd from TexStar. Diskdrake can be launched from the cdrom/ramdisk. http://www.pclinuxonline.com/pclos/index.html Edited March 4, 2004 by bvc
Cannonfodder
Just boot off of CD1, and when you get to the partition screen, select custom partitioning. After doing your partition work, click done so the partition table is updated. Then on the next screen you can either format or not, up to you. When ready, you can quit the installer, reboot or whatever..
pmpatrick
There's also mandrakemove, a bootable mandrake cd but I think the PCLinuxOS is better. And for a further option the System Rescue cd from partimage has a nice partioning tool on it called parted which is a partition magic clone except that it will handle all common linux filesystems: http://www.partimage.org/
