ok well let me rephrase. It barely works. I see at the bottom resolving host and then sometimes it works. How do i disable initial delay. I enabled pipeline and it worked better I think.

ok well it says im connected but it doesn't act like it. Sometimes it will go to a page and take all day then it will quit working all together. Im using a intel 536ep modem. Theres 2 different drivers for it. smp setup or regular whats the diff.

How come it takes linux soooo long to go to different pages online. On windows it goes straight to the website on linux it has to take forever. Also how do i find out how fast im connected.

Is there a version of the Linux partition manager that is self bootable. I really like that partition manager and was hoping I could get that all by its self so I dont need to install linux to use it. I figured for a programmer it would be easy to do because all the source is open.

Ok I was wondering if there is a shortcut in any linux browser to auto put the "www" and ".com" in the address. For example in Internet explorer if you press ctrl-enter it will do this. All that you have to do is type in the main part of the url.

Ok well I installed the rpm and WOW! It worked. Im online and my new nvidia drivers are updated. w00t. Thank you to everyone espeacially to salamandria for the link although I didn't use it I got the same exact file somewhere else. I appreaciate everyones help. Linux is just gettin better.

Ok I was wondering how do I make it so that it auto connects to the internet when I go to a web browser and go to a site. And at the least how do I make a connecting shortcut to my desktop so I dont have to go to configure all the time and then go to network and click connect in there.

ok well I did find the rpm install and installed it and what do ya know. It works. I got my modem working and updated nvidia drivers. This is awesome. Thx guys.

ok well what is the mdk and the numbers in front of them mean.

ok well what are you wanting to know. I need to install the kernel so I can install my modem drivers. All other drivers are pre installed. All I want to be able to do is play some games and get online.

Ok what kernal rpm do I need to download. Theres several different mdks. What is mdk.

ok well ill download that rpm. If I want to upgrade to 2.6 how would I go about that.

Ok I seem to like Linux so far in looks but holy crap its harder than hell to make it work. All my drivers installed with linux but I cant get my modem to work. Its actually listed under unknown devices though. Ok Im running a intel 536ep modem and I got the latest drivers (mandrake 9.1). Will those work with 9.2. I tryed t install them and when I got to the command "make 536ep" it said I needed to install source kernel. Ok so I went and downloaded 2.6 kernal from kernal.org. Well now Im haveing troubles with it. I got everything working then it said an error about modules-init-tools. So I downloaded that and guess what? Its giving me an error about insmod.something. Ok so what do I do. I would also like to know what an RPM is. I downloaded a modutils or something with that extension.
