Guest SDMF
Hey, I'm running MDK 9 and I was thinking about getting an ATI TV-WONDER card, since I already own a Radeon 7200. Anyone know how the compatibility is with this? Also, what are some good software programs for TV cards?
Guest Dirty Old Man
Why don't you check out ATI's page ( http://mirror.ati.com/companyinfo/press/2002/4574.html ) - this is about their release today of new Linux drivers for their cards. DOlson
Bah. ATI doesn't release drivers for their tuner cards... BUT, they DO work. I've set some up before for friends. I know that they work. If I had one, I'd write a tutorial or something... If one was needed. Mandrake 8.2 and 9.0, IIRC, both come with all you need to make them work. I've already read it. A) My card is a 7200 and B) the drivers aren't for the TV tuner cards. DOlson, if you know of a good reference for using them, I would love to see it. DOlson
You install the card into your computer then turn it on and boot into Mandrake 9.0. If you're lucky, a Xawtv icon will appear on your desktop and you're pretty much done... As I said, I don't have this card, so I can't write a tutorial. It's not hard to figure out what to do, just know that the Mandrake Control Center has an option specifically for TV tuners, and Xawtv is the app you want to use for using the card.
