underdark
I have installed to my system Mandrake 9.2 Fivestar Download edition. Now i have a problem.I have onboard Intel AC97 sound card on Asus P4XPX mainboard. It has SoundMax sound driver for Windows.but it has no Linux version. Also mandrake dows'nt see my card. For only that i may buy a new cheap sound card. But i need a card that has a linux driver or mandrake sees it. Also if you have a solution to soundmax problem, write it too. scoopy
Welcome to MUB, I don't think you need another soundcard. first check that sound is unmuted in kmix or similiar program. Second, see if anything in following thread helps: http://www.mandrakeusers.org/index.php?sho...t=0entry15960 Info may be a bit dated, but may help you troubleshoot things. arthur
Are you sure it's not detected? go through your 'dmesg'...okay, post it of you still can't see what's wrong. I know linux supports that card, at least in 2.6. what kernel are you using?
