aRTee
So what does LINUX mean? Not in general, I know that that word stands for the kernel of the best OS in the world.. :P But, just like GNU is a recursive acronym, Gnu's Not Unix, and WINE means Wine Is Not an Emulator, LINUX should mean something. (Yeah, I know, the original name Linus was thinking of was Freax, since it was for freaks and any cool name has/had an 'x' -- finally someone proposed to keep using his own name with the obligatory 'x' at the end..) After a brainstorming session without enough alcohol I came up with the following: Linux Is Not Underdog X Linux Is Not for Uninterested Xenophobes Yeah, you can tell the lack of alcohol there.... Finally it hit me: as the discussion often turns to being userfriendly or not, here is the saying: "linux is very userfriendly, it's just picky about its friends" so: (drumroll --hey why is there no icon for a drumroll?) Linux Is Not Undividedly Xenophile Any other shots at the title?
Gnubie
My guess is it means: "Linux Is Not UniX"
