Garrete
Hello. I am a noob with Linux/Mandrake. I am only testing it out for now. One thing I was trying to get working was my home network. Unfortunately, my wife wants to use XP. At the time I got my cable modem, I did not have room inside the computer for regular NIC, so I used a Farallon ADMtek. Does anyone know how to get this to work? Or should I break down and get a regular NIC? Also, I have a SB Live! sound card. I was unable to get it to work. Can someone point me to the web site or something for the answer? Thank you in advance.
scoopy
Also, I have a SB Live! sound card. I was unable to get it to work. Can someone point me to the web site or something for the answer? Welcome aboard, Right here is a good place to get answers. That soundcard should be no problem. It works about 99% of the time without any problems. More likely you need to open up kmix or aumix and just unmute the sound levels. Probably would be good to clue us in on what version and desktop manager your running, so we can help you out more.
Garrete
I am running 9.2, KDE. Is that what you meant? Is there a file manager or Explorer like in Windows? I am going to get a regular NIC, what is a Linux compatable card? Edited February 10, 2004 by Garrete
