Lord Kenneth
When trying to get the edonkey portion working, servers tell me that port 4662 can't be reached. It works just fine on windows, because my router is configured correctly. I don't have any firewall settings on Linux, either. Any ideas on what's causing the problem? I post it here because I think it's mldonkey specific.
scoopy
I remember reading some stuff where the edonkey folks were not happy with the mldonkey crew and they were supposedly trying things to blacklist them and keep them off their network. I would recommend using edonkey or overnet, who recently merged projects. They have rpms available too. http://www.edonkey2000.com/
GodFlesh
This is old stuff. Mldonkey easily connects to emule ! Mldonkey is THE P2P programm to have. I recommend you use a recent version of mldonkey because it is more efficient. I have used it for more than one year with great success. It is setup on my router, and i control it with kmldonkey on my desktop. Very nice ! You'd better check out www.mldonkey.org for your problems

scoopy
I am sure GodFlesh only uses p2p networks for perfectly legal reasons... like the rest of us. Such as, sharing his Linux ISO's and other open source programs, or promoting a friends music with their permission, or even just finding new music offered by musicians that you wont find in the record store. PS: Yes my previous comment was a bit dated... from MDK's 8.2 era.
GodFlesh
I use it to exchange PhD documents with other students around the world :) Ho, and some cooking "recettes" also :) the donkey network seems much more popular in europe (france + germany) than in the US...
