Gowator
it has me give the command, in root, adsl-start. Is this different than pppoe? No it just uses the pppoe protcol (on top of ppp) to authenticate you with the ISP. The eth0:9 thing is a bit of a pain. Other than deleting it and restarting without the MCC (using Webmin or such) I haven't found a way of getting rid of it easily. You can add it to your desktop but unless you want to not be connected you can also add it to the init scripts. Its not hard but I don't have a whole loada time right now, I just got a 2 day deadline to write a report on a years work../.. Its been covered before though.... try searching the board .(sorry) or perhaps someone else can guide you through it... congrats by the way on getitng connected :D
