      Mandriva Official Documentation

Official documentation for extant versions of Mandriva can be found at doc.mandriva.com.   Documentation for the latest release may take some time to appear there. You can install all the manuals from the main repository if you have Mandriva installed - files are prefixed mandriva-doc.

Updating Python

Recommended Posts

I wonder how safe it is to update my python version to a more current version, and I also want to know how to do it without breaking my whole distro. Is ther a way I can get updates and backported packages for Python in a safe way?

Regards.

You can have multiple versions of python on your system. One will be system-wide which you have in your distro already, and another you can have and run alongside it. I think I did do it once, but on a Debian system, so can't really tell you exactly how I did it now. But it's possible.
