johanl
Hi, I am trying to use my 3650 USB printer on my Mandrake 9.1 box. When I connect the printer to my pc and I go to harddrake, I see that linux has recognized the printer (it displays it as a hp 3600 series) and everything seems to be ok. I also added the printer using the add printer thingy, no problems there as well. Only when I try to print a test page, nothing comes out, but I don't get any error message or whatsoever. What could this be?
pmpatrick
Here's the assessment of your printer from linuxprinting.org and it's not too flattering: http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_printer....HP-DeskJet_3650 It should run, but "abysmally" with the hpijs driver which is included with mandrake. bd2cool
Hi, I have the same problem at first. All you need to do is update the hp driver and you will be fine. I had a Epson 640 and the hp 3650 is a better printer IMHO. I also got it shared to a win xp and a win 2000 box with no problems. You can get the drive update here http://hpinkjet.sourceforge.net/.
