This is an engine that will let you play Ultima 7 on your linux box (or in fact, almost any other OS you want). I tried it with Mandrake 9.2 (downloaded the Red Hat rpm) and it works quite well. However, you will have to work out the config file of the game for your box. I was able to make U7 run not only without flaw, but it was even better than the original. The game will run in 800x600 (or whatever you choose) and the digital music (ogg files) sound much better than the original 8-bits mid file of the original game.
