boatman9
I installed mandriva-linux-free-2010-spring-dual from the 700MB CD onto a 64 bit computer. During the install I selected KDE4 as the desktop, but it seems KDE4 was not installed, there was no desktop to boot into. Does the 700MB free version include any desktops? willie
It should have the LXDE desktop.
jkerr82508
KDE is not included in the dual iso. In order to install KDE during system installation, you need to add the online distribution sources at the point in the installation that it asks if you want to add additional installation sources. If you've already installed using the dual iso, you can install KDE by adding the online sources: http://wiki.mandriva.com/en/Tools/urpmi#Adding_media_for_a_distribution and then running urpmi task-kde4 If you have installed the LXDE desktop, you can use the Mandriva GUI tools to do this: http://wiki.mandriva.com/en/Docs/Basic_tasks/Installing_and_removing_software Jim Edited May 23, 2010 by jkerr82508
