ac_dispatcher
I spent some time with this and posted it on the LinuxQuestions.org site. Thought it might be worth posting here too. For the record I am no guru of any sort. I consider myself just an average linux user. There seems to be alot of new Mandrake Linux people here so I thought I would share some of my more helpfull Links to everyone: First a must read for all (I am reminded to reread it at times too ) http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html and the must have link http://www.google.com/linux --------------------------------------------------------- Next some Mandrake specific links: Mandrake Tips For Free http://www.mandrake.tips.4.free.fr/index.html Mandrake Install & Config Tips http://www.zebulon.org.uk/ The Mandrake Experience http://pgshopping.com/mdkxp/ A Mandrake Howto http://mandrakeuser.cjb.net/ Desktop Mandrake http://www.desktopmandrake.cjb.net/articles.htm Ranger http://ranger.dnsalias.com/ The Mandrake Community Twiki http://mandrake.vmlinuz.ca/bin/view/Main/WebHome TweakHound http://www.tweakhound.com/mdk9/mdk9.htm Easy URPMI http://urpmi.org/easyurpmi/index.php --------------------------------------------------------- This is a good Forum but my favorite is http://www.mandrakeusers.org/ ---------------------------------------------------------- Linux Sources DistroWatch http://www.distrowatch.com/ Linux Distributions http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/ LinuxISO http://www.linuxiso.org/ ----------------------------------------------------------- General Linux Knowledge Linux on Laptops http://www.linux-on-laptops.com/ Newbie Top Ten Commandmenrs http://www.cmm.uklinux.net/steve/ntt.html Intro to Shell Scripting http://www.linuxgazette.com/issue52/okopnik2.html Linux Beginner http://www.linuxbeginner.org/ Linux Junior http://www.linuxjunior.org/ The Linux CookBook http://www.ibiblio.org/obp/cookbook/ CommandLine http://www.spack.org/index.cgi/CommandLine DOSemu http://www.dosemu.org/ Advance Bash Scripting Guide http://www.tldp.org/LDP/abs/html/ Linux Newbie Admisitration Guide http://linux-newbie.sunsite.dk/ Unix Guide http://www.unixguide.net/ TuxMobile http://www.tuxmobil.org/ ------------------------------------------------------------ The Linux Kernel User-mode Linux Kernel http://user-mode-linux.sourceforge.net/ Kernel.org http://www.kernel.org/ --------------------------------------------------------------- Linux News PcLinuxOnline http://www.pclinuxonline.com/ Slashdot http://slashdot.org/ Madpenguin http://www.madpenguin.org/ WarpedSystems http://www.warpedsystems.sk.ca/ LinuxPlanet http://www.linuxplanet.com/linuxplanet/ Linux Weekly News http://lwn.net/ Linux Today http://linuxtoday.com/ ---------------------------------------------------------------- Misc Stuff Madirish http://www.madirish.net/ Groklaw http://www.groklaw.net/ Table of Equivalents http://linuxshop.ru/linuxbegin/win-...-en/table.shtml --------------------------------------------------------------- Linux Games - n- Stuff HappyPenguin http://www.happypenguin.org/ LinuxGames http://www.linuxgames.com/ The Linux Game List http://www.icculus.org/lgfaq/gamelist.php LinuxGamers.net http://www.linux-gamers.net/ VegaStrike http://vegastrike.sourceforge.net/files/index.html Torcs http://torcs.sourceforge.net/sectio...cle&artid=3 Cube http://wouter.fov120.com/cube/ Street Fighter (kinda) http://alumnos.utem.cl/tdam/ NeverWinter Nights http://icculus.org/~ravage/nwn/ ----------------------------------------------------------- Wine and Winex WineHQ http://www.winehq.com/ Franks Corner http://frankscorner.org/ TransGaming http://www.transgaming.com/ Wine Daily Builds http://wine.dataparty.no/ ----------------------------------------------------------- Want more knowledge? There is bound to be one somewhere near you: http://lugww.counter.li.org/groups.cms?&cc=US I have made the mistake of using a forum as my first stop for knowledge. Only to be reminded that a simple goolgle check could have found the answer. For instance Iwas trying to find out how to get acpi working in Mandrake 9.2. So I asked on a forum how to get it working. Well I felt stupid when the answer was right on the Mandrkae web site: http://www.mandrakelinux.com/en/errata.php3#nolapic Of course none of these sites are mine. Might be nice to drop a email there way saying thanks for a good site. This post is bound to get some good Links. Cant wait to see them
aRTee
Hey, cool list and thanks for starting on Mdk specific things with my site... *grin* I would like to urge people to add to the twiki (as soon as I have more time I will add my stuff there too), especially 'how to' things. No reason to have things only at the tips and tricks section here... :)
ac_dispatcher
Thanks aRTee. Your site is a great Mandrake must I must admit I posted this to get some good sites from other users out there. Does anyone have good Linux sites they use daily not listed here?
