83mercedes
Great! It really is an awesome game. I'm glad I could help you out, it is sort of my way to pay back all the great folks on this forum who have helped ME out countless times, with all kinds of questions and problems. This is one thing that makes Linux different, I think. Again, glad you got it working, and also thanks to all who have helped me out, (and I'm sure, will again...). mikey_111
This is kinda the same subject. I have quake2 and expansion pack for linux. I can run the game in softx in xwindow and soft in console ok (but s-l-o-w). I dont seem to understand how to get gl or glx working. when I set vid to gl or glx it gives me an error like no such file. In my quake directory I have this: ref_gl.so* ref_glx.so* are the ref_gl.so and ref_glx.so supposed to point to something? The readme seems to only deal with 3dfx cards I have an nvidia geforce4 mx420 with the latest driver from nvidia. I can say I tried lokis tribes2 and it works great on my machine. If linking up libraries is what I need to do what and how? appreciate any help mikey_111 found it. renamed ref_gl.so* to ref_gl.so.bak and ran quake2 +set vid_ref glx +set gl_driver libGL.so and it started working :-) mikey_111
Guest joehill
you guys seriously have to check out the Dark Places engine. Lord Havoc is on the twilight team as well, but the Dark Places mod and engine are really sweet.
