Peppercorn
Hi again, Can anyone tell if there is a way of automounting a directory on a server to my box (the client) every time I start up my box??? If so, would you mind spelling it out for me?? Thanks again
liquidzoo
Is the server Linux or Windows? If Linux, you can configure it with NFS; as long as it's installed. On your server, use webmin (again, assuming it's installed) by going to https://localhost:10000 and logging in as root. In the networking tab, click on NFS. Set up a share directory and user access. Then, on your regular machine; go to mcc -> Mount Points -> Set up NFS mount points. Click on browse servers, your server should appear. Mount the share as whatever you like. You can change the mount points to allow the user to mount/umount it if you would like (I do, cause sometimes it doesn't automatically mount for me) and then you're all set. Peppercorn
Thanks mate. I had actually done that the other day however the client computer would get stuck at the mounting NFS at startup and not move. I would have to shut down the server and start the client 1st and then start the server. I figured I must have done something wrong and so I undid it all. I'll give it another go! Thanks for your help!!
Vdubjunkie
give us some specs. Are both boxes involved linux? Are you using NFS? If so, post the appropriate line from /etc/fstab so we can see how it looks.
