  1. The installation is on a server and I never used any 3 party mirros beside plf-free and plf-nonfree. How would you proceed from here? Uninstall the glibc and perl hard and reinstall the rpm or is there another way?
  2. I can't seem to get urpmi to work - I keep getting segmentation faults and these glibc errors. What shoul I do and where should I look for the problem? [root@fermi log]# [root@fermi log]# urpmi.addmedia main ftp://ftp.informatik.hu-berlin.de/pub/Mirrors/ftp.mandrake.com/Mandrakelinux/official/2006.0/i586/ media/main with media_info/synthesis.hdlist.cz Segmentation fault [root@fermi log]# urpmi.addmedia main ftp://ftp.informatik.hu-berlin.de/pub/Mirrors/ftp.mandrake.com/Mandrakelinux/official/2006.0/i586/ media/main with media_info/synthesis.hdlist.cz Segmentation fault [root@fermi log]# urpmi.addmedia main ftp://ftp.informatik.hu-berlin.de/pub/Mirrors/ftp.mandrake.com/Mandrakelinux/official/2006.0/i586/ media/main with media_info/synthesis.hdlist.cz *** glibc detected *** free(): invalid pointer: 0x084936a0 *** Aborted [root@fermi log]# urpmi.addmedia main ftp://ftp.informatik.hu-berlin.de/pub/Mirrors/ftp.mandrake.com/Mandrakelinux/official/2006.0/i586/ media/main with media_info/synthesis.hdlist.cz *** glibc detected *** double free or corruption (!prev): 0x0846af08 *** Aborted [root@fermi log]# urpmi.addmedia main ftp://ftp.informatik.hu-berlin.de/pub/Mirrors/ftp.mandrake.com/Mandrakelinux/official/2006.0/i586/ media/main with media_info/synthesis.hdlist.cz unable to access hdlist file of "updates", medium ignored added medium main wrote config file [/etc/urpmi/urpmi.cfg] examining synthesis file [/var/lib/urpmi/synthesis.hdlist.plf-free.cz] examining synthesis file [/var/lib/urpmi/synthesis.hdlist.plf-nonfree.cz] computing md5sum of existing source hdlist (or synthesis) retrieving source hdlist (or synthesis) of "main"... ftp://ftp.informatik.hu-berlin.de/pub/Mirrors/ftp.mandrake.com/Mandrakelinux/official/2006.0/ i586/media/main/media_info/synthesis.hdlist.cz found probed hdlist (or synthesis) as media_info/synthesis.hdlist.cz ...retrieving done examining hdlist file [/var/cache/urpmi/partial/hdlist.main.cz] examining synthesis file [/var/cache/urpmi/partial/hdlist.main.cz] examining pubkey file of "main"... performing second pass to compute dependencies examining synthesis file [/var/lib/urpmi/synthesis.hdlist.plf-free.cz] examining synthesis file [/var/lib/urpmi/synthesis.hdlist.plf-nonfree.cz] examining synthesis file [/var/lib/urpmi/synthesis.hdlist.main.cz] found 0 headers in cache removing 0 obsolete headers in cache wrote config file [/etc/urpmi/urpmi.cfg] Segmentation fault [root@fermi log]# urpmi.addmedia main ftp://ftp.informatik.hu-berlin.de/pub/Mirrors/ftp.mandrake.com/Mandrakelinux/official/2006.0/ i586/media/main with media_info/synthesis.hdlist.cz medium "main" already exists [root@fermi log]# [moved from Software by spinynorman]
  3. I started the mcc log function and during some other work the i saw the following: 22:11:28 rpmdrake[5191]: ### Program is starting ### 22:12:01 net_applet[3713]: running: /sbin/iwgetid -r eth1 22:12:01 net_applet[3713]: running: /sbin/iwgetid -r -a eth1 22:12:01 net_applet[3713]: running: /sbin/iwlist eth1 scanning 22:13:01 net_applet[3713]: running: /sbin/iwgetid -r eth1 22:13:01 net_applet[3713]: running: /sbin/iwgetid -r -a eth1 22:13:01 net_applet[3713]: running: /sbin/iwlist eth1 scanning 22:14:01 net_applet[3713]: running: /sbin/iwgetid -r eth1 22:14:01 net_applet[3713]: running: /sbin/iwgetid -r -a eth1 22:14:01 net_applet[3713]: running: /sbin/iwlist eth1 scanning 22:15:01 net_applet[3713]: running: /sbin/iwgetid -r eth1 22:15:01 net_applet[3713]: running: /sbin/iwgetid -r -a eth1 22:15:01 net_applet[3713]: running: /sbin/iwlist eth1 scanning 22:16:01 net_applet[3713]: running: /sbin/iwgetid -r eth1 22:16:01 net_applet[3713]: running: /sbin/iwgetid -r -a eth1 22:16:01 net_applet[3713]: running: /sbin/iwlist eth1 scanning 22:17:01 net_applet[3713]: running: /sbin/iwgetid -r eth1 22:17:01 net_applet[3713]: running: /sbin/iwgetid -r -a eth1 22:17:01 net_applet[3713]: running: /sbin/iwlist eth1 scanning Every single minute it is looking for action Wish i just get rid of drakroam and net_applet - it is so irritating
  4. Hi all First of all my net_applet wan't show up in the kicker dock. I checked that .net_applet says AUTOSTART=TRUE and if I try running the app from the console I get net_applet already running? How do I make it start? The other problems that maybe is realted is that I getting crazy over drakroam up'ing my wifi connection every 10 second or so. I tried to look in dmesg and it seem strange. The last many lines look like this: airo: cmd= 2 airo: status= 7f02 airo: Rsp0= 0 airo: Rsp1= 0 airo: Rsp2= 2eab airo: cmd= 1 airo: status= 7f01 airo: Rsp0= 2 airo: Rsp1= 0 airo: Rsp2= 2eab The macine is a Thinkpad x30 with the airo wireless integrated card which have worked fine since MDK 10.0. The only soloution i have is to stop netplugd, but that's irritating too.
  5. I installede the version for mandriva 10.2 instead and it worked. How do I contact Mandriva to make them fix the package? The file I installed was: http://ftp.ale.org/pub/mirrors/mandrake/of...4-3mdk.i586.rpm
  6. I have used the pms program before on LE 2005, but now it is broken in mandriva 2006. When i try to run the program the program writes: core dumped. your fault! (signal 11) I tried to run the program through gdb: Password Management System 0.94 Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. 0xb7e2ffa7 in fclose () from /lib/tls/libc.so.6 (gdb) How could I solve this?

    Mandriva 2006

So the estimated time of arrival is tomorrow. I looking forward -- Do any of you know a mirror to do a netinstall from then?
  8. I'm using LE 2005 on both my laptop and my desktop machine. I use the calender in contact very much and i would great if i could have the both sychronized on both machine. I also have a debian server on a old 233Mhz laptop. So maybe i could use that for sychronization server? I tried slapd but it seemed a little overkill - what would you do?
  9. I writing alot i know - hopefully sombody else can use this for their on debugging. In the /etc/modprobe.conf mcc had put a option radio=0 which failed. After i removed that part the module loaded okay :) Just before i went to bed a found some site saying that one could look in /usr/src/linux/drivers/media/video/saa7134/saa7134.h and look for uncommented cards or something like that and i found a line saying: #define SAA7135_BOARD_ASUSTeK_TVFM7135 53 In the file /usr/src/linux/drivers/media/video/saa7134/saa7134-cards.c i found [SAA7135_BOARD_ASUSTeK_TVFM7135] = { .name = "ASUS TV-FM 7135", .audio_clock = 0x00187de7, .tuner_type = TUNER_PHILIPS_TDA8290, .gpiomask = 0x200000, .inputs = {{ .name = name_tv, .vmux = 1, .amux = TV, .gpio = 0x0000, .tv = 1, },{ .name = name_comp1, .vmux = 4, .amux = LINE2, .gpio = 0x0000, },{ .name = name_svideo, .vmux = 6, .amux = LINE2, .gpio = 0x0000, }}, .radio = { .name = name_radio, .amux = TV, .gpio = 0x200000, }, which makes me belive that the tuner is a TDA8290. However this i maybe not supported in linux if I am to belive linuxtv.org. I tried to make to see if xawtv would work but I guess that either the tuner part is wrong or something else. I did modprobe saa7134 card=53 and xawtv gave me: /dev/video1: OK [ -device /dev/video1 ] type : v4l2 name : UNKNOWN/GENERIC flags: overlay capture tuner
  10. I was playing around and tried to do a modprobe - which failed? [root@newton tjansson]# modprobe saa7134 FATAL: Error inserting saa7134 (/lib/modules/2.6.11-6mdk/kernel/drivers/media/video/saa7134/saa7134.ko.gz): Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (seedmesg) Dmesg the writes: saa7134: Unknown parameter `radio' Do you know if this is normal or the main problem? /Thomas
  11. Hi again - sounds great that the card is actually supported by linux! A funny thing is that the KDETV icon on the desktop isn't there anymore, so guess i have unset som settings again. Anyways in mcc i did the config and chose 7134 as the driver and autodectect to the tuner part. :) Kind regards Thomas Jansson
  12. The problem is that only Asus TV-FM 7133 and 7134 are listed. Mine is a 7135. Somethings have changed though through the last few days i played around with alot of settings and at one point the kdetv icon appeared automatically on the desktop after boot and showed ASUS TV-FM 7133 card - but eventhough i tried to scan through the channels i did not find anything and kradio didn't work either?
  13. The little remote that was included in the package work somehow! I can make it close windows and bring up the printing diaglog in firefox? Will start look for a something to config it with! :)
  14. Hi all I just bought a ASUS TV-FM tuner 7135 card, but I can't make it work. I found a picture and description at bttv under ASUS TVFM7135 (B-TV7135FM-ENG-R1.0). When doing lspci -v: 02:00.0 Multimedia controller: Philips Semiconductors SAA713X Audio+video broadcast decoder (rev f0) Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.: Unknown device 4845 Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 16 Memory at eb003000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=2K] Capabilities: [40] Power Management version 2 and lspci [root@newton etc]# lspci | grep SAA 02:00.0 Multimedia controller: Philips Semiconductors SAA713X Audio+video broadcast decoder (rev f0) Kdetv see my card as a 7133 card but it is not possible to see the chanels. Kradio doesn't show any channels either. Kind regards Thomas Jansson
