What version of Mandrake are you using? The reason I ask is because you are getting all these messeges concerning signatures which was an issue with previous version of Mandrake, but resolved in Mandrake 10. It's no big deal, just continue installation.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe it will pick this up and warn what you have is newer then what's on the cd.

In your menu, go to software, packaging, configuration, and mandrake update.

I am trying to listen to a radio station in Florida via their website. I click on the link to listen, mplayer comes on, but it freezes when it is caching or buffering. Doesn't go any higher then .02%. I left it for 2 hours, no change. Thanks for the help.

How about installing all your updates from Mandrake Update. For the life of me, I can't figure out how come it is not letting you save, unless like what Kjel Oslund says it's some sort of bug.

The other garbage you got when you ran kwrite from console, you don't have to worry about. Any program will spit those messeges when you run from a console, but should still open.

As root from a console type:

XFdrake

Just type:

kwrite

If I remember, boot on the first CD, press F1 key, type rescue, that will boot on rescue mode. There you have "Restore bootloader".

You should have posted this in the "Other Distributions" area. I am not familiar with FC2. I would say off hand though, you'll need some drivers for your webcam. Googling for the driver should hopefully get some results. Or small chance it is not compatible in FC2. There should be some compatibility chart you can look up to see. There are some other users here that also use FC2. They'll be able to offer further help.

There's gotta be something missing. You are following all the steps to saving and editing a file w/vi and it's not doing it.

Let's try something new:

Make your editing changes in a gui.

Open a console and su to root and run kwrite or emacs or some other gui editor.

Make the required changes to the file, save, and reboot.

Would you mind repeating the exact steps you are editing and saving, from beginning when you su to root to end. I want you to write it down as you are attempting to edit and save the file and post them here. I can't think of any reason why this file is not being saved.

You don't really have to do anything with it. You can either delete it, or you can move it to your home directory as a back up. Both operations require you to be root.

If I remember you need libdvd and libdvdread. I believe though when you installed MPlayer, it would have also installed those files. When you can't see it, is it saying it is missing some codecs? Or is your dvd rom not being recognized. Sorry, but not seeing the dvd can mean a few things.
