  6. And one more, i tried to delete all modelines except "1680x1050_60" wich is mode for my monitor, and nothing happens, problem persists. My "1680x1050_60" line was created with command: "gtf 1680 1050 59", because if i use command "gtf 1680 1050 60" i get my monitor out of range.

  8. I'm totaly disappointed with new Mandriva. First, is it that big problem for mandriva team to make BIOS RAID work out of box? During installatiom BIOS RAID is recognized but after installation it doesn't works. In this 2007.1 release and earlyer Mandriva releases, i need to put "dmraid -ay" in rc.sysinit to get RAID functional. Second, i can't set proper resolution for my Samsung 226BW. During installation monitor is recognized and installer sets 1680x1050 resolution, great, but when i want to test that resolution my monitor goes out of sync! I made my modeline for 1680x1050 and monitor doen't goes out of sync but in that case i only see part of desktop work space of about 80%, i don't see taskbar and far right side of desktop. Ihave ATI x1950xtx with latest ati drivers. How to get 1680x1050 to function normaly like in Windows XP?
  9. Because my cable modem has strange problem. After changing ip address my modem simply blocks! It can't send nor receive data (or it can very slow 200-300 B/s)! I have to unplug it from the wall each time i'm going from linux to windows!
  10. I'm using mandriva 2007. My computer is connected to internet through cable modem. When i start mandriva i get different ip address via dhcp then i'm getting in windows xp. Currently my dhcp client is dhclient and i also tried pump but without success. With dhclient i tried to send client_id in format 1:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX in dhclient.conf and with pump i tried to add option --win-client-ident in ifup script but nothing. I'm getting all possible ip addresses but not address which i'm getting in windows xp! Please help!!!
  11. When i enable 3d acceleration, videos won't play! Mandriva just freezes! When 3d acceleration is disabled videos play normaly! I tried every application wich is capable of playing videos but nothing, same happens! Exactly same thing happens to me in Kubuntu edgy X64! Card working fine in windows. Please help!
  12. With mandrake 10.1 i didn't had any problems but with mandriva 2006 i have. Problem is that network interface is not recognized during boot by 90% of time. I have cable modem which was connected through usb, and during boot there was problem: "Interface eth2: seems not to be present delaying initialization... and after starting kde i had manualy to connect eth2: interface. That was annoying, so i decided do put a network card in my computer and connect cable modem through card. Network card is D-Link 530tx with Via Rhine III chipset. Now i have same problem with card like i had with usb: Interface eth1: seems not to be present delaying initialization... and after starting linux i have to manualy connect network interface. When i look into control center i see that card is recognized. What to do now? Pleeeeeeeeeease help!
  13. I want to kill program knetstats on mandriva shutdown but doesn't work. I put script knetstats.sh in .kde/shutdown and made it executable but on shutdown script won't kill program. If i manualy run script it works! Please help! This is the script: #!/bin/sh killall knetstats
  14. Guys, thanks on your tips! It was needed to set: chmod 777 /dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0 chmod 777 /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0 chmod 777 /dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0 chmod 777 /dev/dvb/adapter0/net0 and works! :D
  15. i tried that, but after restart permissions are returned to default. That is because new /dev/dvb is created every time during boot, when device is detected, so new /dev/dvb gets new permissions.
  16. I'm not realy sure where to post this question to software or to hardware section, but i decided to post it here. When i'm logged as a user, Kaffeine doesn't see DVB adapter, but when i log as a root everything is ok. How to gain access to /dev/dvb as a user? Please help!
  17. I'm using Mandriva 2005LE, Technisat skystar2 dvb-s card and i have problem. Kaffeine player see dvb device only when i'm logged as root. When i'm logged as user there is no dvb device. How to fix that?
  18. I have mandrake 10.1 and i want to use dmraid to access ntfs raid0 array but dmraid needs /dev/mapper. Is device mapper instaled in mandrake by default? If not how to install it?
  19. I have installed Mandrake 10.1 and i have problem accessing ntfs raid0 array. I have raid0 2x160gb sata maxtors on sil3112 and 80gb maxtor on pata (linux + winxp). After using "mdadm --build /dev/md0 --level=0 --raid-devices=2 /dev/sda /dev/sdb" mdadm says that array is started. Fdisk and Cfdisk recognizes /dev/md0 as one 320gb hdd with ntfs file system. Problem is when i try to mount /dev/md0 "mount -t ntfs /dev/md0 /mnt/raid" there is error: "wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/md0, or too many mounted file systems". My ntfs partitions on pata drive are mounted without problems. Please help!
