  1. Yes... Because it's got Unix Inside... Then it's all !@!@$#@ed up... Yeah... It should have Windows underneath it... Yeah... That'd be great...
  2. Sophos AntiVirus. Their website has a 30-day trial that doesn't expire.
  3. Liquid looks okay, but Acqua doesn't have the rounded corners. Anything else?
  4. I wanna make my KDE 3 look and act as much like Mac OS X so I can show a friend of mine, as he's totally into the Aqua look. So, I'm asking you all for help. I looked around a bit on the major theme sites, but I haven't found anything that is bang-on for Mac OS X. If you know exactly what to use, please, let me know.
  5. That's not all... You need to follow the readme file. You need the data from the Windows CD... Or buy the $5 installer from TuxGames which extracts it for you.
  6. Hah. They are up. I havd them last night, but I didn't think to post... You'll have to pick them out of this list: http://aslan.no-ip.com/~dana/rpms/ You'll need: MPlayer-0.90pre8-1.i586.rpm MPlayer-skins-1.0-1.noarch.rpm iso-8859-1-MPlayer-font-1-1.noarch.rpm w32codec-0.60-1.i386.rpm I think that's it.
  7. I would uninstall the old one, since Mandrake changes stuff in their RPMs. Then, to take care of the deps, I'd use urpmi blackbox-0.65.i586.rpm or whatever the file is called.
  8. http://blackboxwm.sourceforge.net/ http://bbtools.thelinuxcommunity.org/ Look there.
  9. No, I tried that already. I screwed with the KDE Control Center's personalization stuff, and that doesn't help either.
  10. What? You mean the ancient 0.62 release? Yeah... I'll jump right on that one... My RPMs have patches (such as mousewheel and window snaps) and stuff like that. Not to mention that I have bbtools RPMs. Mandrake doesn't give you those. Think about it man... If I know how to compile Blackbox and make RPMs out of it, then I probably know that Mandrake comes with it and that that version sucks... I wouldn't waste anyone's time by posting a useless message with useless RPMs.
  11. Okay... MY settings don't stay after I close it, and it's a PITA to have to set that every time. My wife's comptuer does the exact same thing. I think I'm just gonna install the official release or something.
  12. Here are the Blackbox RPMs that I made. I can't guarantee that they will work on your system, but they run great here. Get them at: http://aslan.no-ip.com/~dana/blackbox/ My theme is there as well.
  13. http://aslan.no-ip.com/~dana/ogle/ Just download the RPMs here and install them. You'll need: libdvdcss-1.2.2-fr1.i586.rpm libdvdread-0.9.3-ogle1.i586.rpm ogle-0.8.5-ogle2alsa.i586.rpm ogle_gui-0.8.5-ogle1.i586.rpm xvattr-1.3-ogle1.i586.rpm The last one is optional, but it's used for setting brightness, contrast, etc. Feel free to mirror them if you want. My server isn't always online.
  14. This is interesting. You can read the conversation here: http://kerneltrap.org/node.php?id=436 This means that kernel 2.5 has become substantially better than 2.4. Nice work!
  15. That's weird... I wonder why it wasn't enabled by default? That's gonna throw many people for a loop. I had to go in there, then switch to Canada, in there and in the Language settings. Works now. Thanks anon! I've never looked at that part before. Not sure why.
  16. This looks pretty cool. I hope it becomes a standard. I may test it out later. http://config4gnu.sourceforge.net/
  17. Heh. Cool. Do you do system-wide installs, or local installs? I always install as root... So anyone can play.
  18. Okay, I've never had probs with spellcheck and OOo until Mandrake 9.0. Does it work for anyone? My words don't get picked up as wrong. I've looked at all the settings. Just wondering if it's just me or not.
  19. Yes. :) But it was in years. :(
  20. I'll see. By the way, who needs kill when you have killall?
  21. Rumor? You mean the email I received from Nero stating that they were planning a Linux release? No, never heard about that one. ;)
  22. That tutorial is just meant to help those who are familliar with DOS. Just for basic file management and moving around between directories and so forth. Oh, and my name is NOT doison...
  23. Yeah, but you didn't POST before me. So there. :P PS: *Now* can we contact Mandrake?
