Ok, I got it, I downloaded every lib.png that I could get my hands on. After about 5 downloads, I went back and tried to re-install the pixus thing, it works great! The little green light even quits blinking, and the print comes out much clearer.
After the softlink i've installed with --nodeps option:
rpm -Uvh --nodeps bjfilterpixus560i-2.4-0.i386.rpm
on LE2005. It works also.

Hi,
I,ve installed freenx and nxclient (with dep. packages) on a Mdk 10.1 and also on LE2005.
When I try start 'nxclient' to get access to another PC, I get only a small empty X-window with an 'OK-button' no other messages (see attachment).
I have the same problem on 10.1 and LE2005.
Anybody knows this problem? Which log-file stores the messages from the nxclient?
What is the way to find out what the problem is?

Hi,
my 'normal' user can noit reboot or shutdown by using the KDE menu-path.
The only choice ist 'logout' (and the system starts gdm).
reboot and shutdown by using konsole works.
Where can i activate the reboot- and shutdown-option?

my current settings are:
Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Mouse1" Driver "mouse" Option "Protocol" "ExplorerPS/2" Option "Device" "/dev/mouse" Option "ZAxisMapping" "6 7" EndSection
I've tried
Option "Protocol" "PS/2"
like i've seen in Knoppix but it gives the same result and kills my wheel.
also:
Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2" and Option "Protocol" "auto"
gives no better results.
Are you sure that i can fix it with changes in the protocol?

Thx for your help.
Try playing around with different protocols for your mouse in your /etc/X11/xorg.conf - it's pretty easy to fix, althoughI'm not so familiar with makeing changes in xorg.conf by hand .
I've a Logitech PS/2-Mouse with scrollwheel (Logitech Cordless Pilot Optical Mouse).
What are the alternative protokols for this device?

Hi,
I use a KVM-Switch to connect 2 PCs at one Keyboard, Mouse &Monitor. I know that there are technical problems with KVM-Switches but my switch works with Knoppix, debian, Gentoo, WinXP and also with mdk 10.1.
Know i've updated to Mandriva 2005. After the first time when i switch beween the systems i loose my mouse support in Mandriva. The mousecoursor stand still but the Keyboard and Monitor works.
Is there a possibility to reanymate my mouse without make a reboot or restart the X-server?
What is the reason than other distributions can work witch the switch but Mandriva can't?
Is there a kernel patch or a trick to solve my problem?
Thanks for help

... Also, why have urpmi on a live cd? You'd want things to work the way they are on the disc, right?
Just do the installation of all you need and get rid of urpmi and the related database(s).
I need urpmi to install all the packages which are not included in the baseline linux. What ever... MDK is not suitably for my project.

I think 179MB is the smallest installation you can get out of Mandrake, though it sounds like the minimal option hasn't been worked on lately (when it was introduced, IIRC it was much smaller). I don't think Mandrake is the best base for such a project, being a general purpose distro; you might be better off looking at something like Damn Small Linux.
is there no chance to make it more slim??
i have also thiked about Damn Small Linux or slax but am more familiar with mdk.
Is there an other distri which is small an uses urpmi?

Hi,
i will build a LiveCD for a VDR with MDK 10.1.
for this i need a very very small base system (w/o X).
If i unselect all pakages and select the minimal installation (w/o urpmi) the installation has 179 mb .
this is much to big for my projekt.
what i need is a much smaller baseline linux with urpmi and some tools like wget, lynx, mc, gcc, ....
how can I get the smalles baseline mdk10.1??

P.S.: I used the grafical Installation programm for my 179 mb linux.

Hi,
the reason why my wlan is crypted by WEP-key is, that i have no success with enter the wpa_supplicant command line in the start script (/etc/init.d/network).
What is to do that wpa_supplicant comes up with the WLAN initiation at boot time?
wpa_supplicant works when i start it manualy.
thx for yor help.
