Mandy 10 oe i get this error at start up:
checking file system
/hda7 is ok
then this:
e2fsck: Get a newer version of e2fsk!
fsck.ext3
do you want to check file system (Y,N)
you may lose some info
**I put Y
then it says droping into shell to repair file system or press control-d for normal startup
ctrl-d restarts the computer
when i press y to go into shell, then it is like a bash prompt, i dont know what command i am supposed to do, i am kinda lost... but now all of my other distros are now not working also....

I have downloaded the FC3 isos from their website 5 full times now (all 4 cds) and none of the md5sums checkout.... what is the problem, i am downloading them to a FAT32 partition and then downloading boot.iso and installing from the FAT32 drive... everytime it gives me some error during install and tells me that the computer has to be restarted. I am geting sick of it. I have also tried putting them on the cd and i get the same errors, when it does the media check, it tells me that there are problems with the file. I might be getting errors because i am using a browser to download them from the http site,
i am willing to try anything,
i know i did something before that also didnt work, it was from the command line, i think it was like "wget" or something like that.... i dont remember exactly, PLEASE HELP!!!!!

i had the same problem with kernel 2.6.9 just recently, i fixed it by saving my .config file, then erasing all traces of the kernel then recompileing it using the .config settings file

i suggest after you get libdvdcss, that you get the dvd player xine... it is quite possibly the best dvd player ever created...

when ever i try to launch firefox the program opens on desktop 1 instead of the desktop that i am on.
for example, if i am on desktop 6 and click on the firefox icon, the program launches on desktop 1 instead of 6
is this a bug? is there a way to fix it?
-
ya do not use the mdk ctrl center at all, it messes up the file that i think i told you to make, /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts ifcfg-wlan0
-
ok well that was already in there, but there was also a line that said GATEWAYDEV=eth0
so i added another line that said GATEWAYDEV=wlan0 and it works :D
-
ok i will try that

what do you mean?

maybe try CTRL ALT DEL and try closing all unnecissary programs, then try installing....

i have now figured out by running:
e2fsck -p /dev/hda5
e2fsck -p /dev/hda7
e2fsck -p /dev/hda3
at the command line that all of my mandy 10 partitions(the ones i tested above) are ok
the one where i have problems is
e2fsck -p /dev/hda1
e2fsck -p /dev/hda2
which are my FC3 partitions that i just installed....
when i run those commands i get the problems and it tells me to get a newer version of e2fsck
i am going to try to run an interactive startup and try to bypass
