I've installed all the packages... :mellow:
But still... :huh:
checking for DEPS... configure: error: Package requirements (libgnomeuimm-2.6 >= 2.6.0 gconfmm-2.6 >= 2.6.0 gtkmm-2.4 >= 2.4.0 libgnomecanvasmm-2.6 >= 2.6.0 libglademm-2.4 >= 2.4.0 libpanelapplet-2.0 >= 2.0.0 libxml++-2.6 libnotify >= 0.3.0) were not met: No package 'libgnomeuimm-2.6' found No package 'libgnomecanvasmm-2.6' found No package 'libglademm-2.4' found No package 'libpanelapplet-2.0' found No package 'libxml++-2.6' found No package 'libnotify' found Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you installed software in a non-standard prefix. Alternatively, you may set the environment variables DEPS_CFLAGS and DEPS_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config. See the pkg-config man page for more details.
I've checked the packages... :blink:
[root@localhost wp_tray-0.5.4]# urpmi libgnomeuimm libgnomecanvasmm libglademm libxml++2.6_2 libnotify Packages libglademm2.4_1-2.6.7-2mdv2010.0.i586, libnotify-0.4.5-3mdv2010.0.i586, libxml++2.6_2-2.26.1-1mdv2010.0.i586, libgnomecanvasmm2.6_1-2.26.0-2mdv2010.0.i586, libgnomeuimm2.6_1-2.28.0-1mdv2010.0.i586 are already installed

Silly question, but... :mellow:
Anybody know what is package name for "Wallpaper Tray"??? :blink:
-
No, they are the same, but the Mandriva supplied driver might be a little older (in version).
Well...
I guess I no longer need to spent my time to try installing my nVidia driver with downloaded driver....
There's no different installing nvidia driver from the nvidia website, or from Mandriva's packs....
Case Closed....
Thanks everyone....

In 2009-Spring I have been using the Mandriva supplied driver only because it is now so easy to install.
Is Mandriva supplied driver is better than driver that I've downloaded from nvida.com??? :huh:
If that so, maybe I should close this case... :D
I just want to compare which is the best, the Mandriva supplied driver, or from nvidia.com... B)
Which NVidia driver are you trying to install? It appears to me you need the legacy driver 173.14.20. I have had errors in the past when I tried to install the wrong version.
I used nVidia GeForce 5500 FX with legacy driver 173XXX...

I've reinstalled my Mandriva... (at least... )
and i've installed my nVidia driver with these packages:
==> nvidia173-kernel-2.6.29.1-desktop-4mnb-173.14.18-2mdv2009.1.i586.rpm
==> x11-driver-video-nvidia173-173.14.18-2mdv2009.1.i586.rpm
==> dkms-nvidia173-173.14.18-2mdv2009.1.i586.rpm
Everything's ok, include the compiz effect..
But still... I keep trying to install my nvidia with the driver that I've downloaded from nvidia.com...
I wonder what is this error means:
ERROR: If you are using a Linux 2.4 kernel, please make sure you either have configured kernel sources matching your kernel or the correct set of kernel headers installed on your system. If you are using a Linux 2.6 kernel, please make sure you have configured kernel sources matching your kernel installed on your system. If you specified a separate output directory using either the "KBUILD_OUTPUT" or the "O" KBUILD parameter, make sure to specify this directory with the SYSOUT environment variable or with the equivalent nvidia-installer command line option. Depending on where and how the kernel sources (or the kernel headers) were installed, you may need to specify their location with the SYSSRC environment variable or the equivalent nvidia-installer command line option.

Well... I'm stuck...
I installed all packages with *-devel-*, then my screen show nothing but blank...
I guess I'll reinstall my mandriva and install my nvidia with dkms packages...
Thanks 4 the answers guys.....
-
You need to install the *-devel-* rpm that is matching your kernel. :)
I did...
But it doesn't solve the problem yet...
-
Is gcc installed?
Yes, it was...
-
I've checked on Install & Remove Software tools...
These packages has totally installed:
kernel-desktop-2.6.29.1-4mnb
kernel-desktop-devel-2.6.29.1-4mnb
kernel-desktop-latest
kernel-headers
But still....
I got the same error...
Should I reinstall my Mandriva???
Any ideas?? :sad:

Hello...
I've download nVidia driver from nvidia.com...
When I tried to install it in init 3 mode, I got this error message:
ERROR: If you are using a Linux 2.4 kernel, please make sure you either have configured kernel sources matching your kernel or the correct set of kernel headers installed on your system. If you are using a Linux 2.6 kernel, please make sure you have configured kernel sources matching your kernel installed on your system. Any ideas what to do????
