I just installed mandrake 10.1 onto a VMWare virtual machine off the mini iso on the website. The installation went without a hitch, I rebooted and logged in and now i'm stuck. I see a blue background and an xclock window. When I click on the background I get a menu with various options. One of these is 'xterm' which I would expect to bring up the terminal but it doesn't. Anyway, I figured that this is the X window system not the normal KDE that I am used to. How can I open up a browser so I can download KDE or install it from a CD. Thanks. sorry. i forgot to say its plugged in by usb. its called 'Ambit USB Cable Modem' when i try and instal it through the wizard it doesnt make a difference

Well, in windows wmp and winamp automatically do this when you put them in the 'media libraries'

how can i make my cable modem work with linux? hard drake detects it and i guess i have to install it somhow but i dont know where! can someone please tell me? thx
