If you go to Configuration > KDE > Accessibility > Keyboard shortcuts there's away to change your scheme to use the Windows key.
Hope that helps!

The best advice I can give you is to please not log in as root because you can easily hose your system that way. It's best to use a terminal and su to root. Learning command line may be a little challenging at first but it's the best way to go in the long run. For example to change ownership all you have to do is to open a terminal, su root, cd to the directory where the file is located and type chown <nick> <name of file> or directory for that matter. If you need help we have a FAQ http://www.mandrakeusers.org/index.php?showtopic=4463 and if you can't find what you need there we're always here to help! :)

I'm looking for people that are willing to help with translation. I know we had a list from the old board but a number of those people are no longer around so I'm starting over again. If you're interested please post your name and a message in what ever languages you speak along with information on how to contact you.
Thanks!

Well I'm a Mandrake user but I don't use Mozilla. When you install are you doing it from command line? If not try uninstalling and reinstalling using urpmi and see if you get any error messages. I'd be sure and remove everything first. Like I said I'm not a Mozilla user but that's what I'd try. HTH

We currently have a report button that is located on the top, right side of each post next to edit. It is to be used for reporting violations of the guidelines as listed here http://www.mandrakeusers.org/index.php?showtopic=477 When someone reports a post, a link, with any message is sent to all four admins. We would like to continue to have this available since it is supposed to alert us to potential problems so that we can deal with them immediately. Unfortunately it is being used frivolously and at this moment we are considering disabling it. Please think before you report a post as to whether or not it is a violation of the guidelines. Do not use this as a means of expressing opinions regarding a post or to simply to "see what happens."
Thank you,
MUsB Admins

Do you only have cd1? If you have 2 and 3 you need to add them as sources if they're not already listed. Then you can use rpmdrake or just urpmi which is what I prefer.

DAO is the default I believe and what I usually use. Hope it works out for you.

When you ran it from terminal did you get any error messages?
-
Are you chosing to burn them as ISO's? I had the same problem and realized I was just burning them as data cds and that didn't work. But k3b and eroaster both have options to burn isos. Just a thought.

He's a part of the FAQ/Development team which means he's a moderator of the FAQ Forum. I know cause I made that group moderators myself. He's just in denial. :P

Now, the first thing liquidzoo needs to learn is how to use the smilie correctly and with authority :)
Now that's my only concern about LZ. I don't think he IS evil so I've made it my personal responsibility to fix that.

Crossover office runs Photoshop but it's not free. Here's a link to their site. http://www.codeweavers.com/site/products/ You can download an evaluation version and see if it runs the software you need. For particular questions about wine itself tho you need to post in the emulation forum. :)

I don't smoke! :P
Now if he'd sent me a 12 pack of Smirnoff Ice that would have done the trick! ;)

I like! It's awesome looking. (That emoticon seems to fit the new page.)

LiquidZoo has been added to the moderator team. He's already a member of the FAQ and Development team so we're going to keep him really busy! ;)

Erm, is it me, a bug oin the new board, but didnt Pierre say something at the start of this topic??? Didnt he start it??
Moved my working Mdk 9.1/KDE to new MB with different sound chip (CMI 8738).
The sound works after reconfiguration but AlsaMixer returns following error
"Function snd_ctl_open failed....." Removed alsamixergui and reinstalled but still does nor work.
Any comment appreciated
Pierre
Then I see this post, has something fscked up.
like to get a TV tuner card for my box and I am running 9.2. Can anyone recommend a/some TV tuner card(s) that they know work in MDK 9.2? Thanks. Also, using a TV tuner card, would I be able to plug my cable connection directly into it to capture/record TV shows from Comcast cable? (I'm also on Comcast high speed internet and have Comcast cable TV...not digital....and an extra jack in this room).
I split the post. Must have been left over from when we were having problems. :)

Okay, to give credit where it's due tyme and HJ told me about the seamless filter. I was trying to figure out a way to help bvc with his image and told them I needed to find a way to make images tile and they told me about how simple it is to do in gimp.

Moving a little offtopic but I was wondering what benefits there are in using a HTML editor such as bluefish over emacs/vi/other text editor?
Personally since I do all my own coding I just like the fact that bluefish "highlights" code so I quickly know if something is wrong.

I use KDE. Tried gnome but just didn't care for it as much.

Here's another one for you. I tried it at 3 different resolutions. http://home.satx.rr.com/mystified/zoom3.htm
The img I used is in my /img called gulf.jpg if you're interested.
Edit - I added text to it using anti-aliasing, it's not perfect but it looks better. Also at lower resolutions you have to scroll sideways for your link. I didn't set my image size and I didn't have to.
Where, O where, are my KDE screensavers?

Try seeing if you have the KDEArtwork package installed first. I "think" that's where the screensavers are.
